“Silent Hill f” IGN Review
I have to start with a very non-content-related issue: opening this review almost froze my entire browser with all the ads and videos it started playing right away. Really bad experience right from the outset. I'll have to really put forth an effort to not let that color the rest of my read through this review.
There are some solid comparisons to other games throughout this review, giving you a good idea of the atmosphere you'd be getting into if you picked Silent Hill f up - whether or not you've played the games the author is comparing to. The way the descriptions are set up are effective, even if you aren't intimately familiar with the references.
The review gives a good amount of attention to different aspects of the game, from atmosphere to comparisons to previous entries in the series and even into a bit of the scenario presented in this title. There are good descriptions of the different systems of the game, making it clear what type of experience you would be getting into with this entry. There's also a rich history of different contributors to not only this game but the entire franchise that will inform you about the larger world this title comes from - both real and imagined.
Overall this is a good review, I have to begrudgingly admit, and give it a decent rating despite my really bad first impression of the website. I can accept that IGN's sins aren't the fault of the author of this review.
