This review, written by Chris Kohler, is actually a review of a remake of the classic SNES game, Secret of Mana. The review thoroughly addresses the strengths and weaknesses of both the original title and the PS4 remake for which this review is actually written. All in all, the reviewer does a nice job of summing up the differences. There is some backstory that will educate the reader on some of the issues that the original game went through during its development, which led to some of the issues that still exist in the remake. There are also a number of recommendations to a potential player to maximize the enjoyment that can be had from a playthrough of the remake.

The only negative I could say about this review is that many of the opinions and pieces of advice are based on the reviewer’s emotional connection to the original game. Having grown up playing it, this reviewer clearly has a special place in his heart for the SNES version. He does, however, freely admit this and still manages to give a quality review of the PS4 remake. All in all, this is a good review.
