This review, written by Michael Ordona, opens with a summary of what parents need to know about the movie, which is a smart move. Unfortunately the very next section is the user reviews, which misleadingly indicates that this is where the official review ends. Not so! Beneath the section for user reviews are several more sections containing plot synopsis, the quality of the film, and what families might need to talk about before or after viewing.

The review takes care not to spoil anything for the reader. I mean, anything at all. It’s about the most generic plot synopsis possible while still recognizably being about this movie. I don’t think this is necessarily a bad thing, as many people enjoy not having key plot points spoiled for them. The “Is It Any Good?” section gets a little more detailed, though it still manages to avoid any spoilers. The only thing I take a bit of issue with is the suggestion that this CGI villain may be more terrifying than Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight. That’s just ridiculous, no matter what his motivations may be.
